Kiss A Cow Fundraiser
This coming week (April 30th-May 5th), we will be accepting donations to the Pre-Veterinary Club through our Kiss a Cow Fundraiser. "What is this?," you may ask. Essentially, we have six agriculture instructors participating and each one has their own beautifully decorated milk jug. Donate your spare change to the milk jug of your choosing and at the end of the week, we will count up the money. The instructor with the most money in their milk jug wins a smooch from one of the university's beautiful cows. Encourage your friends to please donate to the club to allow us the opportunity to further our knowledge in the veterinary world and gain first hand experience. The six professors participating are: Svenson, Weathers, Mauk, Braden, Mueller, and Magnus. Look for the milk jugs in the Department of Agriculture Offices on the 3rd floor in Johnson.
Please encourage those you know to donate! : )

Mississippi Valley Therapeutic Horsemanship
Saturday April 14th we will be going to the Mississippi Valley Therapeutic Horsemanship to volunteer as a club. They will be having us do various tasks around in the barn such as stall cleaning. Be prepared to get dirty and sweaty! The Horsemanship is about half an hour away so we will probably be leaving towers circle by 8:15 a.m. that morning. We will be there from 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. You can count this as volunteer hours and, depending on what we do, you may even be able to gain some experience to mention in you Veterinary School Applications! If you have any questions please e-mail Lauren Bethel at [email protected].
World Bird Sanctuary
We are currently planning a Saturday trip to the World Bird Sanctuary in Valley Park, MO near St. Louis. We will be touring the hospital for $5 a person, and for those who want to stay for the Owl Prowl after it will be an additional $7 if 10 people go. The Owl Prowl happens at night and sounds really neat.
Here is what it says on the website:
"Come over to the Dark Side and meet those amazing birds that exist by moonlight. Owl Prowls offer an exciting opportunity to learn more about the amazing life of Owls. Spend an evening with a WBS naturalist who will introduce you to live owls and their unique calls. Then, take an easy night hike through our grounds to try and call in a wild owl. Owl Prowls were awarded "Midwest Traveler's Treasure of the Midwest" by AAA's Midwest Traveler Magazine in 2010." - http://www.worldbirdsanctuary.org

Bonfire!
We had a bonfire/smores this semester at Fran's house on November 3rd. The rain stopped the bonfire, but we had a blast playing Apples to Apples and Super Smash Bros. on the N64. Thanks to everyone who came!
