For all those who could not make it to the meeting, here’s a recap:
At the beginning of the meeting the T-shirts, purchased last semester, were passed out. If you were not at the meeting you can contact Fran and she can tell you where to pick yours up.
February 16, 2012 we will be taking a trip to Sky View Animal Clinic. Due to Fran being ill last semester, the trip was scheduled. We have now set a new date, which we hope you can attend. We will be leaving towers circle at 4pm. This will be about an hour or so tour and if you need to leave early, that is fine. We will send out directions for those of you who would be driving there or we will be carpooling from towers for anyone who would need a ride.
For the Bird Sanctuary trip we took a vote on when to schedule the trip and the date that won the vote was March 3, 2012. There is an event called Owl Prowls on Friday and Saturday nights November through March with a fee of $7 a person if we bring 10 people or more. We could go do the hospital tour, get dinner together somewhere, and then come back for the owl prowl that night. We could have two sets of carpools, one group who wants to do the Owl Prowl and one who would leave after the hospital tour. As the trip gets closer, we will set up the carpool arrangements and get a count on the people who want to attend the Owl Prowl.
Be sure to check this website for internships that will be posted!
Lauren Bethel is in the process of registering our club through the University so we will be recognized as an official club. She has sent out the constitution for everyone to read. If you have any questions contact Lauren. She is also in the process on finding some service projects for us to do to help our local animal shelters and ways of helping our community.
Kelsea Job spoke on setting up a time to visit Dr. Houck, the Equine Veterinarian in Fruitland. She does not have a date yet but she is going to call and see what would work best for them. We would leave here around 4:30pm on whatever day she does schedule. This will be a great opportunity to see what it is like being in a clinic that deals specifically with horses and what it is like having a small private practice. I, Chelsea, went on this tour last year and it really broadened my perspectives of the veterinary world. You will not regret going on this trip!
Our next meeting will be held on February 15, 2012 at noon. Johnson 101 is the room we will be meeting in. We will be having a trivia game since it is Pet Dental Awareness Month. The winner will receive a free admission pass to the Bird Sanctuary. Do not miss this meeting J
If you have any more questions feel free to email me at [email protected] and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
